Eastside Cannery - Vegas Casino Review
Phone: (866)-999-4899 Staying In The HotelThe 16 floor hotel that sits above the casino is one of the newest places to stay in Las Vegas. As you might expect, there is something nostalgic about the design and decoration of the rooms, but they have all of the modern luxuries you have come to expect. Right off the bat, every room comes with a refrigerator, internet access, a 37" flat screen television, and floor to ceiling windows. Some of the more expensive rooms have Jacuzzi bathtubs and wet bars, but all of the rooms are reasonably priced. The walls are fairly thick, but you'll here some plumbing noises when your neighbors are showering, and if you listen closely you might hear some faint conversations/alarms through the walls. Staying at a Boulder Highway Hotel might seem like you'll be too far from the action of the Strip or Downtown Las Vegas, but with the free shuttle options, you should have no trouble getting around. Also, you shouldn't write off the Boulder Highway experience until you've tested it first hand. After years of development, you could have one hell of a vacation without going anywhere else. There are a few restaurants right in the Eastside Cannery that you should check out. First, just like all Vegas Casinos, they have a great steak house ('Carve'). Their only other nice, sit-down restaurant is 'Casa Cocina' which serves Mexican-inspired dishes. If you want something a bit faster/cheaper, head down to the casino and check out the Deli. The Deli has some of the best deals in town and is perfect for feeding the whole family (for two dollars you can get a hotdog with fries and a drink!). On the top floor of the building you'll find The One Six Lounge. The 'One Six' is a bar and lounge with great deals on martinis and appetizers. While it might not appeal to the older crowds, most nights it gets fairly busy with the 20-30 crowd. It has an awesome three sided balcony and offers an affordable, relaxing way to socialize without ever leaving the building. You'll have to check the deals that are going on, but you can often get a room for $40-$50 a night. With these low prices, and the newness of the rooms, this really is a spectacular deal.
Craps SpecialtyAt their two craps tables, you can bet anywhere from $5-$3,000, and there is a $5,000 maximum on odds. The real kicker though is the amazing 100x allowed odds! Nobody on Boulder Highway can match this, and its tied only with Casino Royale for the title of best craps in Vegas. On weekdays, you can take advantage of their $3 minimum limits, and every day their field bets payout 3x on 12. If you don't know how the odds bet works, it is pretty much an additional bet to your wagers on the line. This bet does not have a house edge and is the smartest bet in craps. For more info, and to learn why 100x allowed odds is so amazing, check out our explanation of the odds bet. |
